Abstract:
Teaching evaluation is one of the important means to improve teachers’ teaching behavior and teaching efficiency in China. The importance of teaching evaluation cannot be ignored. The teaching evaluation methods mainly include student evaluation, peer evaluation, and supervisory evaluation and so on. This paper explores the characteristics and operational logic of teaching evaluation. By analyzing the status of classroom teaching and using narrative interviews of several cases in universities, this paper has found that there are problems of advocating management value, ignoring multiple value orientations, inversion of purpose and means, rational calculation under the guidance of interests and lack of authenticity of the evaluation system. In view of the problems, the reconstruction path of evaluation methods is proposed: focusing on multiple value goals and promoting human development, reshaping the purpose of teaching and attaching importance to the two-way development of teachers and students, expanding peer evaluation groups to reduce the risk of collusion of interests, and changing the way of supervisory evaluation and setting corresponding evaluation standards.
